Reply to Chris (aka- Moose)'s Post: the brakes were makeing a slight grinding noise before i replaced them . to my surprise the pads had some life left.the wheels do not turn off the ground can hardly move the truck at all. I compressed the caliperes with a c clamp and the new pads seem to fit well. the pads seem to not be centering on the disc.
Thanks

Possible causes are the pads are not the correct ones thus getting lodged or the anti rattle clips are not assembled correct thus wedgeing the pads. Or the caliper and calaiper bracket are not mounted correct or the caliper slide pins are not lubed and bound up. The last approach will be caliper damage within causeing the piston not to retract. If you loosen the bleeder on the caliper and the wheel begins to spin then the master cylinder is not releasing the fluid pressure to the calipers.

if it is the caliper slide pins how do you lube them. and if it is that the caliper are damaged is it something a novice could fix as it will not curently drive with the brakes locked.
