''86 LTD CROWN VIC. TRANS WON''T ENGUAGE IN DRIVE,2nd.,1st.,when vehicle is just started(cold).WILL GO INTO REVERSE OK,WILL GO INTO DRIVE OK WHEN WARMED UP.SHIFTS OK WHEN WARM,DOESN''T SLIP.ANY ANSWERS??

hello there,

Your going to need an overhaul. Not working when cold indicates the piston seals are getting too hard and losing their sealing ability when cold. Get it fixed NOW so that you do not tear up any hard parts should it decide to start slipping.
