i have a 1986 lincon town car 5.0 fi cars been sitting ...

i have a 1986 lincon town car 5.0 fi cars been sitting for years tryed charging ac and compresser runs for about 2 sec kicks on off jumped pressure switch thinking it woulod circulate but wont. so what im asking where does the ac system normally plug up on that kinda car

jumping ac compresser while adding freon

Even with a restriction in the system the compressor should continue to run with the low pressure switch jumped unless it has a high press cut off which that year did not as far as I know.You might want to check for power and ground at the clutch itself to see if the power is going away possibly because of a relay

Reply to KenZ's Post: yes compressure will run the whole time pressure switch is jumped but when plug into pressure switch compressor will run only for short time like a second or two. what i am asking is what part of the ac system gets pluged up like the reciever dry,condenser, any orphis tubes or filters ???????

Oriface tube would be the first thing I check.Did you recover,evac and recharge or just add? Do you have a way to tell me the pressures with switch jumped?

Reply to KenZ's Post: i just added to system evaced into a bladder what was left in system. i got about 1.7 pounds in then went to add a can of dye and would not suck no more into system with switched jumped and car is not here with me to check pressures where is the oriface tube located on that model
